First Light Theatre Project

Mission

First Light Theatre Project’s mission is to take two of the most powerful elements in theatre – acting and lighting – and put them in the capable hands of young people.

The Project creates a learning and performing environment where process is equally important to product.

Students, primarily middle school age, explore roles in dramatic works, learn principles of lighting design, train as stage managers and even directors, and learn play writing techniques. 

Collaboration is an important facet of First Light as several schools work together to create performance.
